FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO BE GIRAFFES

Ongoing research project

For Those Who Want to Be Giraffes is an ongoing research project developing a guidebook for art institutions and spaces. It proposes practical and experimental ways to rethink the spatial, financial, temporal, and organizational infrastructures of cultural spaces from the perspective of caregivers.

The project asks how care and accessibility can be considered before a program is designed, a residency announced, or a funding application submitted, not as additional requests or accommodations, but as part of an institution’s policies, structures, and budgets from the outset.

The guidebook is grounded in a local context shaped by international cultural institutions, funding structures, and institutional models, and asks how these models might be adapted to different realities.
